Delhi's air quality worsens to near 'severe' levels, prompting schools to continue online classes amid pollution concerns.

According to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the city's 24-hour average Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded at 4 pm was 343 against 349 the previous day. The AQI peaked at 419 on November 20 while it was recorded at 371 the next day.

Delhi’s air quality has deteriorated to severe levels, forcing Noida schools to operate online until November 27. The District Inspector of Schools confirmed the suspension of physical classes due to hazardous AQI readings.

Delhi reported shallow fog on Monday morning, with the lowest visibility of 900m recorded at Safdarjung. The minimum temperature stood at 14°C.

Delhi was covered in a thick layer of haze on Tuesday morning, as the air quality was reported to be ‘very poor’, taking a plunge from Monday's 'poor' category report. On Monday, Delhi recorded an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 279 at 5:30 AM.

By 11pm, the average AQI in Delhi was 304, but at least 15 ambient air quality monitoring stations had entered the “poor” zone.
