LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Arkansas State Police troopers arrested a man who was at the center of a nationwide alert in Eudora. According to ASP officials, state troopers arrested 40-year-old Richard Dewayne Pope Thursday. ASP officials said they were informed that Pope was considered dangerous and traveling through Chicot County on a motorcycle.
Grant Hardin, a former police chief of Gateway, Arkansas, was serving decades-long sentences for murder and rape and remains on the run.
An 8-year-old boy reached speeds of 85 mph as he took his younger brother on a joy ride in Arkansas, police say. Harrison Police Chief Chris Graddy said during a May 22 city council meeting that a citizen reported a driver, who appeared to be a child, “was driving poorly,” according to the City of Harrison.
