Ireland has condemned Wales to a record-extending 15th straight rugby loss after overcoming a 20-minute red card to rally for a 27-18 win and stay on course for an unprecedented third Six Nations title in a row.

Ireland were forced to show their grit as they came from behind to avoid a massive upset against Wales in Cardiff. Going in as 23 point favourites with bookmakers, Ireland found themselves 13-10 at the break, and with a try for the hosts early in the second half things got very nervous.

Rugby Union fans have been slamming the 'stupid' new red card rule after Ireland's Garry Ringrose was sent off against Wales. With the visitors leading 10-3 after 34 minutes, the centre was penalised after making head contact with opposite number Ben Thomas as he charged in for a tackle.
