Pirelli will become MotoGP's sole tyre supplier on a five-year contract from 2027, the motorcycle racing organisation said on Thursday.

Pirelli has signed a five-year contract to be the sole tire supplier to the MotoGP World Championship. Pirelli already supplies the tires for the Moto2 and Moto3, but starting in the 2027 season, it will also supply tires for the premiere class as well as the electric MotoE championship.

MotoGP has announced that Pirelli will become the sole tyre supplier for the world championship from the 2027 season, replacing Michelin. French tyre manufacturer Michelin has been the control supplier for the premier class since 2016, when it took over from Bridgestone.

Pirelli will take over from Michelin as the sole tyre supplier for the MotoGP World Championship in 2027. The company already supplies Moto3 and Moto2, plus WorldSBK and BSB.

According to reports from Speedweek.com, MotoGP rights holder Dorna is about to announce a new tyre supplier for MotoGP. Pirelli will reportedly be announced as an exclusive partner in MotoGP from 2027. This comes after months of negotiations, which ended the idea of an extension with Michelin.

MotoGP will part ways with its current tire supplier, Michelin, after they were unable to finalize on mutual terms for the future.
