After the pilot-only “Flight Qualified” Speedmaster blew up watch forums, Omega drops a faithful version you can fly.

These new releases have mostly been of the Seamaster Diver variety, but today, Omega is showing the Speedy some love with a brand-new model that simultaneously recalls several pilot’s watches from the brand’s past while also bringing a secret military-only watch to civilians for the first time.

The Speedmaster Pilot is a flight-qualified, military-inspired version of the Swiss brand’s most famous watch.

Omega’s newest Speedmaster is a striking blend of vintage Speedy proportions, tool watch ruggedness, and pilot watch visuals. Earlier this year, Omega released a similar watch called the Speedmaster Pilot Flight Qualified,

Speedie fans have saluted the creation of Omega’s Speedmaster Pilot with a special cockpit-inspired dial. It is the second Pilot introduced since the summer, following on from a piece dubbed the Speedmaster Pilot Flight Qualified that was only available to buy for US military aviators.
