San Francisco Giants star Rafael Devers went hitless Friday in his first game against his old team, the Boston Red Sox. Devers was, of course, traded just last Sunday from the Red Sox to the Giants as part of a five-player swap that included pitchers Kyle Harrison and Jordan Hicks and outfield prospect James Tibbs.

In his first at-bat, after a standing ovation from both Giants and Red Sox fans, Devers aggressively swung at the first pitch and (ironically) grounded out to first. Abraham Toro briefly bobbled it before recovering to flip it to Hunter Dobbins for the out.

For the first time in his career, Rafael Devers played against the Boston Red Sox. Devers faced off against the Red Sox at Oracle Park on Friday, marking the first time that he matched up with his former team after he was traded to the San Francisco Giants on Sunday.
