Sarah Boone was sentenced to life in prison in an Orlando courtroom Monday afternoon for suffocating her boyfriend in a suitcase, bringing a nearly five-year legal saga to a close — for now.

Boone, from Florida, said she thought he could get out of the case on his own and went to sleep after a night of heavy drinking, but videos on her phone showed he shouted to her that he couldn't breathe.
