The Social Security Administration is transitioning away from paper checks this year, only allowing electronic payments for beneficiaries.

Social Security Administration (SSA) will no longer issue paper checks for benefit payments in an effort to “modernize payment systems and enhance service delivery,” the administration wrote in a statement.
