President Trump said Monday the Iranian government offered "early notice" about a series of missile strikes that targeted the U.S. Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, downplaying Iran's response to the U.S. bombing of some Iranian nuclear sites over the weekend as "very weak."

President Trump and VP Vance "coordinated at the highest level" with Qatar's emir and premier, a diplomat told Newsweek.

Iran claimed responsibility for an attack on the U.S. Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar in a statement from the country’s armed forces. A U.S. official, also granted anonymity to discuss a developing situation, confirmed that missiles were fired toward the base.
