KANSAS CITY — The Yankees will have a fresh bullpen arm for Thursday night when they go for a three-game sweep of the Kansas City Royals. Lefty reliever Brent Headrick, who was roughed up in two recent outings, was optioned to Triple-A after pitching 1.1 scoreless innings in Wednesday night’s 6-3 win at Kauffman Stadium.

Royals reliever Daniel Lynch IV added another fine play. He fielded a soft ground ball from LeMahieu, spun and threw to first base for the out. Lynch was attended to briefly by members of the Royals’ training staff afterward, but he remained in the game.
