A woman was killed and three people were injured after a fire tore through three Bay Shore houses early Thursday, officials said. The Bay Shore Fire Department was alerted about 1:27 a.m. to a fire on North Windsor Avenue, Chief John Ippolito Jr. said.

The two other homes suffered “severe damage,” News12 Long Island reported. No injury was reported in those residences, police said. Four adults and one child have been displaced, a Red Cross spokesperson told WABC. Witnesses said windy conditions fueled the heavy flames, which quickly spread to the neighboring homes.
