CapeNature confirms an adult male leopard was fatally electrocuted on an Eskom power line near Worcester after apparently fleeing a threat. The landowner discovered the animal hanging by its teeth from an 11kV line after noticing a power outage.

A farmer in Cuttack district fought off a leopard that entered his home, resulting in the animal's death and the man sustaining serious injuries. The farmer, Subhranshu Bhol, used a knife in self-defense after his dogs were attacked.
