MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A group backed by billionaire Elon Musk is behind a set of deceptive attack ads and text messages targeting voters just weeks ahead of the election for a seat on Wisconsin’s Supreme Court, employing a battleground state strategy it used last year against Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris.

The state Democratic Party is launching a seven-figure initiative, with digital ads and town halls, to counter Elon Musk's Supreme Court spending.

Democrats can overcome the funding disadvantage by tapping into the “rage” that voters feel as Musk “tears the country apart,” Wisconsin Democratic Party Chairman Ben Wikler said Tuesday.

Democrats are casting the race for control of the Wisconsin Supreme Court as a referendum on billionaire Elon Musk as he and other Republican allies have outpaced Democrats in spending with the election just a month away.
