The Holiday actress, 52, and the 45-year-old Good Charlotte rocker, who are parents to Raddix, 5, and 8-month-old Cardinal, rely on therapy to be "equipped" at dealing with the times they are “mad at each other” and don’t want to be in the same room.

Joel Madden told the actress that he and wife Nicole Richie are also in therapy, comparing the practice to “going to the gym” to build “strength.”

The “Charlie’s Angels” actress, 52, appeared on her brother-in-law Joel Madden’s “Artist Friendly” podcast and said that she and her husband, Benji Madden, 45, “depend” on sitting down with a therapist.
