The much-anticipated schedule for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy could be finalized during 5 December’s International Cricket Council (ICC) meeting, according to reports. All eyes will be on what model is accepted by the ICC as both PCB and BCCI are not ready on a single model.

Just hours after PCB accepted BCCI and ICC's demand, Akhtar also claimed the hybrid model for the Champions Trophy was already agreed upon. He urged Pakistan to maintain cordial cricketing relations with India. This claim came before it was revealed that PCB had already consented to this model well in advance.

Pakistan hopes it will get a fair deal on “equality” when the International Cricket Council virtually meets on Friday to finalize details for next year’s Champions Trophy.

There seems to be no middle ground between the Pakistan Cricket Board and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) over ICC Champions Trophy. In the latest development, the BCCI has decided against accepting PCB’s demand of not playing their matches in India during ICC events.

The BCCI reportedly has rejected PCB's partnership formula to solve the Champions Trophy deadlock. The PCB told ICC that they will only accept the hybrid model if BCCI agrees to the same for ICC events in India,

As of now, there has been no response from the BCCI but indications are that the Indian cricket board is not willing to accept adopting a hybrid model for their tournaments, citing no security issues in India.
