WASHINGTON D.C. — The Giants announced on Friday afternoon that left-hander Kyle Harrison will start on Saturday in place of Justin Verlander, who was placed on the 15-day injured list (retroactive to May 19) on Thursday with a right pec strain.

The San Francisco Giants have placed winless right-hander Justin Verlander on the 15-day injured list with a strained right pectoral muscle.
