When Michigan’s football team lost to Illinois on Oct. 19, it dropped to 4-3 on the season and was mired in a two-month long commitment drought on the recruiting trail. Sherrone Moore’s first season as head coach was spiraling downward and in need of a jolt.

Auburn’s defensive line class in 2025 recruiting cycle took a hit losing 4-star edge Nate Marshall to Michigan. The 6-foot-4, 265-pound defensive lineman is the No. 46 overall player in the class of 2025, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He’s also ranked as the sixth-best defensive lineman in the country.
