Ozzy Osbourne, who died July 22 at the age of 76, was known as the singer of influential heavy metal band Black Sabbath and for his outrageous solo career that earned him the title the Prince of Darkness. Yet Ozzy also had a softer side. He was a huge fan of the Beatles.

"The Osbournes kicked off a wave of celebrity-driven reality TV," Andy Dehnart, president of the Television Critics Association and editor of the Reality Blurred website, told the BBC. According to The Osbournes executive producer Greg Johnston,

"I didn’t realize then that I would never see Ozzy again after that night," Butler writes of the July 5 "Back to the Beginning" show in England.

Black Sabbath bassist Terence 'Geezer' Butler shared an essay about his friendship with Ozzy Osbourne and their final gig together before the rocker's death at age 762. In the essay, Butler said he 'wasn’t prepared to see how frail he was.

Osbourne died on Tuesday at 76, just weeks after he and Black Sabbath performed at their farewell Back to the Beginning concert earlier in July.
