Twelve years after he last featured in India's premier domestic first-class tournament, Virat Kohli is set to return to the Ranji Trophy. Kohli confirmed his availability to play in Delhi's last round of group-phase matches,

The BCCI has made playing domestic cricket mandatory for its contracted cricketers unless there is a fitness issue following the series loss in Australia earlier this month.

Virat Kohli last played a Ranji trophy match against Uttar Pradesh in 2012. He is now set to play in the premier domestic tournament after more than 12 years. Kohli has made himself available for Delhi's game against Railways.

Kohli could not make it for Delhi’s upcoming away clash against Saurashtra, beginning in Rajkot on January 23, due to a neck sprain but he has communicated to DDCA that he is available for the team’s last league match of the Ranji Trophy.

Some of the biggest names in Indian cricket, also part of India's ICC Champions Trophy 2025 squad, are set to feature in the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 season, starting on January 23. Participating in domestic cricket will help these star players regain form and fine-tune their skills ahead of the international tournament.

President of the Saurashtra Cricket Association Jaydev Shah told Sports Tak that Ravindra Jadeja will play in the Ranji Trophy and was practising today for the game against Delhi.
