Watson’s announcement came a day after the Red Wings waived former Spitfire forward Christian Fischer. The 27-year-old Fischer has been a frequent scratch in recent games for the Red Wings and had a goal and seven points in 45 games this season. He was claimed off waivers by the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday.
