A fifth person has died nearly one month after a New Year’s fireworks explosion in Hawaii. Kevin Vallesteros was one of six people transported to Arizona for treatment at a burn center after the fatal explosion took place on Jan.

The illegal firework explosion that took place in Aliamanu, Hawaii, also known as Salt Lake, has left five people dead and two arrested.

Arizona’s Maricopa County identified the latest fatality as Kevin Vallesteros, 29. Honolulu police said he died at approximately 6:40 a.m. HST. This raises the death toll in the Aliamanu fireworks explosion to five.

The Maricopa County Air Quality Department wants to find out how much you know about high pollution advisories, no burn days and other alerts. The department is looking for public participation on a new Clean Air Awareness Survey.
