Poland's military said that all procedures had been activated to ensure the safety of the country's airspace following a Russian attack on neighbouring Ukraine.

As Russia launched the largest aerial attack so far on Ukraine, hundreds of missiles and drones rattled Poland where fighter planes were scrambled to deal with any contingency. Poland has presidential election scheduled on June 1.

Russian drones and missiles again bombarded cities across Ukraine on Saturday night into Sunday morning despite the completion of a major prisoner exchange.
