Former Packers receiver Sterling Sharpe elected to Pro Football Hall of Fame after short but outstanding career
The Packers made Sharpe, who played at the University of South Carolina, the seventh overall pick in the 1988 NFL draft. During seven years with the Packers, he made five Pro Bowls and was a three-time first-team All-Pro. Sharpe caught 595 passes for 8,134 yards and 65 touchdowns.

Sterling Sharpe becomes first South Carolina player to make Pro Football Hall of Fame
Sharpe is also the first former South Carolina player to ever be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. While playing for the Gamecocks, Sharpe earned first-team All-America honors in 1987 and went on to become the No. 7 overall pick in the 1988 NFL Draft. His No. 2 jersey has since been retired by South Carolina.
