In Bihar, the NDA is in power with JD (U) leader Nitish Kumar as Chief Minister, even though the BJP holds more seats in the state Assembly. Addressing speculation about adopting a similar model in Maharashtra, BJP spokesperson Prem Shukla rejected the idea, citing the party's robust organisational structure and leadership.

However, despite being the largest party with 132 seats and making Devendra Fadnavis a CM candidate, there's no agreement among alliance partners. The BJP has ruled out replicating the Bihar model, where Nitish Kumar was made CM before elections.

Given the decisive results, with the BJP bagging an overwhelming 132 seats, followed by Shiv Sena (57) and NCP (41), it is learnt that the BJP leadership in Delhi is not happy with the “pressure tactics” adopted by Shinde supporters to make him Chief Minister again.

As Mahayuti alliance secured a majority in Maharashtra, negotiations within the alliance for the Chief Minister post is going on.

Shiv Sena spokesperson said that Eknath Shinde should continue as the Chief Minister just like in Bihar where BJP did not look at the numbers, but still made JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar the Chief Minister.
