Fresh off his first practice with the Minnesota Wild, David Jirieck spoke with reporters Monday Dec. 2nd on his move from Columbus to Saint Paul.

Minnesota Wild President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Bill Guerin today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has acquired defenseman David Jiricek (YIHR-ih-chuhk) and a fifth-round selection in the 2025 NHL Draft from the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for defenseman Daemon Hunt,

Guerin called the price paid for Jiricek a “no-brainer.” In his plan to build the Wild into a contender, they’re at the stage where Guerin feels he can use prospects and draft picks as currency.
