Two motorists were injured after steel pipes fell off a semi and onto the Kennedy Expressway on Tuesday night.

Two people were seriously injured in a three vehicle crash early Monday morning on the Kennedy Expressway, according to Illinois State Police.

Illinois State Police said the incident happened in the northbound lanes of I-90 near Lake Street. A semi-truck carrying steel pipes hit the Lake Street bridge, causing some of the pipes to fall onto the expressway and hit two other cars.
