President Vladimir Putin on Thursday threatened to strike "decision-making centres" in Kyiv with Russia's new hypersonic missile, hours after Moscow pummelled Ukraine's energy grid in an attack that left a million people without power.

President Vladimir Putin has threatened to target Kyiv's "decision-making centres" with a new ballistic missile. Questions have been raised about its potential impact and speed after it was used to attack the Ukrainian city of Dnipro last week.

Russian President Vladimir Putin Thursday threatened to strike "decision-making centers in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, with Russia’s new Oreshnik hypersonic cruise missiles, after pounding Ukrainian energy infrastructure and cutting off power to more than one million people across the country.

Russia launched a total of 347 missiles as well as over 2,500 Shahed-type attack drones at Ukraine in November, President Volodymyr Zelensky said at a news conference on Dec. 1.

The Ukrainian military said Russia launched a barrage of 110 drones overnight as one person was killed after a block of flats was hit in Ternopil.
