Michigan gas prices edged close this weekend to a high for 2025, averaging $3.28 a gallon on Saturday, just two cents less than the high for the year but still less than what they were a year ago.

The average gas price in the United States last week was $3.13, making prices in the Midwest region about 3.1% lower than the nation's average. The average national gas price is essentially unchanged from the previous week's average of $3.12 per gallon.

Michigan gas prices rose 12 cents this week as compared to a week ago, AAA-The Auto Club Group reported. Drivers are now paying an average of $3.27 a gallon for regular unleaded gasoline. This is 16 cents more than this time last month, but 32 cents less than this time last year.
