EXCLUSIVE: Lionsgate and LuckyChap ‘s Monopoly movie is gaining some momentum as the studio is cornering the market of one of the town’s hottest writing duos. Sources tell Deadline, Lionsgate has closed a deal for John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein to write a screenplay based on Hasbro’s classic board game.

John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein are going from Dungeons & Dragons to Park Ave, closing a deal to write a movie based on the board game Monopoly. Lionsgate is behind the project that is being produced by Barbie outfit LuckyChap and Hasbro Entertainment.

The upcoming Monopoly movie, which is being produced by Margot Robbie, taps the duo behind Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves for the screenplay.
