Rory McIlroy has set his sights on finally winning the fifth major championship of his career next season, after enduring further heartbreak on the big stage in 2024. McIlroy looked set to finally end his 10-year wait to become a major champion at the US Open in June,

"I love that we're playing the PGA Championship at Quail Hollow in May, which is typically when we played the Wells Fargo," Rory McIlroy said.

Rory McIlroy has not won a major since 2014, but is already looking ahead to next year as he aims to finally add a fifth to his collection after a number of near misses in 2024

The Open will be played at Royal Portrush in 2025 and Rory McIlroy is already relishing the prospect of playing another major in his home country
