One of the new dishes on Sean Payton's "menu" has been second-year Marvin Mims Jr. Ironically, Mims' unique impact in recent weeks hasn't come as a wideout, but as a running back. Payton has used Mims in the backfield with great success to keep defenses guessing and give the Broncos a giant boost of dynamism.

The rookie quarterback said he isn't afraid "to give my honest opinion" to his veteran head coach as the Broncos tie up game plans.

A big reason for Denver's success is the way Payton has coached up rookie quarterback Bo Nix, who has continued to get better every week. Over his last five games, Nix ranks in the top 10 in EPA per play and completion percentage over expected, and his case for the Offensive Rookie of the Year award gets stronger with each passing week.
