Texas Tech announces firing of DC Tim DeRuyter, secondary coach Marcel Yates
The program announced the firing of defensive coordinator Tim DeRuyter and defensive pass game coordinator/secondary coach Marcel Yates on Sunday. Joey McGuire originally hired DeRuyter, 61, when he took the Texas Tech job ahead of the 2022 season.
On National Signing Day, McGuire opened up about all aspects of the program, including the portal-bound five-star.
