It’s the next step in a major shake-up of international travel for Australians, with more competition to become available for flights to Europe, the Middle East and Africa.Virgin Australia chief executive Jayne Hrdlicka told NewsWire the new partnership was targeting the peak European summer and would offer travellers cheaper long-haul flights.

Travellers can fly from Sydney, Brisbane and Perth to Doha from June 2025, with Melbourne flights to take off later next year.

Virgin Australia has released a range of new flights to more than 100 destinations across the Middle East, Europe and Africa in partnership with Qatar Airways.
