Watch the No. 11 seed Utah Utes (16-15, 8-12 Big 12) head into the Big 12 Tournament against the No. 14 seed UCF Knights (16-15, 7-13 Big 12) on Tuesday at T-Mobile Center, beginning at 9:30 p.m.

The Utah Utes play the UCF Knights in the Big 12 Tournament. The teams meet Tuesday for the second time this season.

The last time No. 23 BYU basketball faced the Utah Utes, it was a completely different team. Following a 73-72 loss in overtime, BYU was 2-4 in the Big 12 and outside the NCAA tournament field. Coming into Saturday night, the Cougars had won 11 of its last 13 games and had one more box to check to cap off an incredible regular season.

The Runnin' Utes would have to pull off a miracle run in the Big 12 Championship in Kansas City to make the NCAA Tournament. No. 14-seeded UCF is up next for Utah in the conference tournament. The Utes lost to the Knights in Orlando less than two weeks ago.

Maye Toure and Gianna Kneepkens kept the Utes in the game as Toure racked up 24 points, 14 rebounds, 2 assists, and a block while Kneepkens put up 20 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists.

Jensen, 48, was one of the key figures during Utah’s most prominent years as a program under legendary coach Rick Majerus.

BYU isn’t a stranger to playing on Friday night and, as usual, the Cougars will play the Friday before general conference for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. BYU will host West Virginia in that game on Oct. 3.

Ten days after firing Craig Smith, Utah has landed its next men's head basketball coach: Dallas Mavericks assistant Alex Jensen. The 48-year-old alum played for Rick Majerus and was on the legendary 1997-98 Runnin' Utes team that went all the way to the national title game against Kentucky.
