Avelo's CEO told The Ledger in February that the airline would begin direct flights to Michigan, but when and where was still in flux. Flights begin this summer.

The airline will start flying nonstop to Grand Rapids, Michigan and Long Island, New York in June. It is the only airline offering nonstop service between Central Florida and these two destinations. Avelo said one-way fees will start at $69 and operate twice weekly.

Avelo Airlines will soon arrive as the fifth option for travelers flying in and out of Long Island MacArthur airport in Ronkonkoma.
