Two Bay State correction officers were hospitalized after a fire broke out in a cell area at MCI-Norfolk over the weekend. The correction officers were taken to area hospitals for smoke inhalation Sunday afternoon, according to the Massachusetts Department of Correction. No incarcerated individuals requested treatment for smoke inhalation.

A Massachusetts man allegedly killed his elderly roommate of two decades on Thursday for standing too close to the food and "often sneezes," local officials reported.

Richard Lombardi, 65, said that Frank Griswold, 80, "often sneezes" and he didn’t want anything to “contaminate the food.”
