The coldest air of the season is on the way for the end of the week. But before that happens there will be a fresh round of snow to parts of the metro area.

By Wednesday evening, National Weather Service Meteorologist Kyle Klein said, strong winds could also lead already-freezing temperatures in the 20s to feel even colder, with the wind chill wicking away heat and making it seem like it were in the single digits.

Temps will stay mild on Tuesday before a blast of arctic air and lake effect snow move into the area starting Wednesday and into Thursday.
