Michigan gas prices edged close this weekend to a high for 2025, averaging $3.28 a gallon on Saturday, just two cents less than the high for the year but still less than what they were a year ago.

The average fuel price in the Midwest region is about the same price as a month earlier. According to the EIA, gas prices across the region in the last year have been as low as $2.81 on Dec. 9, 2024, and as high as $3.48 on July 29, 2024.

Michigan gas prices rose 12 cents this week as compared to a week ago, AAA-The Auto Club Group reported. Drivers are now paying an average of $3.27 a gallon for regular unleaded gasoline. This is 16 cents more than this time last month, but 32 cents less than this time last year.
