Parts of New Jersey that missed out on last week's snow could see its first snowfall of the season next week, per the National Weather Service.

The CBS News New York First Alert Weather Team is watching for the potential of a storm that may disrupt travel plans in the Tri-State Area on Thanksgiving and Black Friday.

Wet weather and cool temperatures are expected for much of New Jersey for Thanksgiving this year. According to the National Weather Service, the rain that has settled over the metropolitan region is expected to linger until late Thursday afternoon before moving out from west to east around 5 p.

Thanksgiving will be a washout across most of New Jersey, but conditions will rapidly improve over the course of the holiday weekend.

The holiday coincides with an artic blast that will plunge temperatures to 15- 25 degrees below average in the Great Lakes region and will bring rain to the East Coast, including New Jersey, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) said in an advisory.
