When the New York Jets originally acquired Aaron Rodgers in a trade with the Green Bay Packers, it was a move that many thought would make the franchise a contender once again. Unfortunately, that expectation never materialized.

The New York Jets were wise enough to rid themselves of the Aaron Rodgers headache this offseason as the veteran quarterback has made clear his intentions for the remainder of his career following an announcement on Tuesday.

Without a semblance of a rushing attack last season, Rodgers finished with a total QBR of 48.0, his second-lowest grade over a full campaign during his career. Over 17 games, Rodgers threw for 3,897 yards with 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, missing the playoffs for the third consecutive season.
