Pi Network launched its open mainnet on Feb. 20, 2025, allowing external transactions and exchange listings after years of development.

The Pi Network finally threw open its doors to external trading at 8 am UTC on February 20th, 2025, after years and years of anticipation… It effectively ended the “Enclosed Mainnet” phase which flagged off in December 2021.

Pi Network’s native token, PI, dropped more than 65% following the project’s highly anticipated mainnet launch. On Feb. 20, Pi Network announced that its “Open Network” had officially launched. The project said this allowed users to access centralized exchanges and other businesses beyond its ecosystem.
