The Sombrero galaxy looks entirely different in a new image by the James Webb Space Telescope. Instead of a Mexican hat, it appears more like an archery target.

The Sombrero galaxy, or Messier 104 or M104, is roughly 30 million light-years from the Earth in the Virgo constellation.

A side-by-side comparison of the photo with its predecessor from the Hubble telescope shows how clearer the newer telescope is, allowing us to see the so-called “Sombrero galaxy" like never before.
