EUGENE — We were live from Jane Sanders Stadium for today‘s Eugene Regional final between No. 16 seed Oregon and Stanford. The Ducks won 10-7 on a walk-off home run by Dez Patmon and advance to host Liberty in the Eugene Super Regional next weekend.
The celebration lasted late into the night on May 18 after No. 16 Oregon rallied to defeat Stanford in their NCAA Softball Regional elimination game at Jane Sanders Stadium. But it didn’t last much longer than that.
Oregon needed to score early and often to put itself in a position to play at least one more game this season. With two runners on base, freshman Rylee McCoy hit a bomb over the left field wall. McCoy helped the Ducks keep their season alive with a five-run second inning.
Stanford was held to just two hits after Economides’ second home run as Oregon left-hander Staci Chambers relieved starter Lyndsey Greir and threw 4 1/3 scoreless innings. Elise Sokolsky recorded the final out in the top of the seventh inning.
