Family, close friends and officers from many jurisdictions filed into Parkview Christian Church on Friday for Illinois State Trooper Clay Carns’ funeral.

Illinois State Trooper Clay Carns, 35, of Orland Park, was honored by colleagues with a funeral procession Friday.

The funeral will begin at 10 a.m. and will be followed by a procession from the Parkview Christian Church in Orland Park to a cemetery in Alsip, Illinois.

The procession from the Parkview Christian Church in Orland Park started around noon and ended at his final resting place at a cemetery in Alsip, 22 miles away.

A funeral will be held for fallen Illinois State Police Trooper Clay Carns, who died in a tragic accident while clearing debris from I-55 near Channahon, and is survived by his parents, wife, two children and law enforcement family.
