Baltimore-Class: What Made These U.S. Navy Heavy Cruisers a Powerhouse

The heavy cruiser USS Wichita (CA-45) was originally the last of the eighteen treaty cruisers permitted by the London Naval Treaty. She was built to a modified design and used a hull based on the Brooklyn class light cruisers.
