In honor of National First Responders Day, the First Responders Children’s Foundation presented Lieutenant Nick Schneider with the distinguished FDNY Local Hero Award. New firehouse unlocked 🔓 On Tuesday, Fire Commissioner Robert Tucker and Department of Design and Construction Acting Commissioner Eduardo del Valle broke ground on the site of the future new home of FDNY Engine Company 268/Ladder Company 137. The original firehouse has been serving the community since 1913 and sustained significant damage during Superstorm Sandy. The new site will be built to withstand future storms, and ensure our members can continue saving lives in Rockaway Park. | New York
